Poland Raises VAT Threshold to PLN 240,000 | Prepare for KSeF e-Invoicing 2026

In a move designed to support small businesses and better reflect economic conditions, the Polish Ministry of Finance has announced that the VAT registration threshold will rise from PLN 200,000 to PLN 240,000 starting January 1, 2026.

While this change may ease the burden for smaller enterprises, it?s important to understand what it means in the broader context of Poland?s e-Invoicing (KSeF) compliance landscape.

Why the Increase?

This increase is a response to:

The adjustment ensures that smaller businesses are not overburdened by VAT obligations too early in their growth.

Impact on small businesses

Businesses with annual revenue between PLN 200,000 and PLN 240,000 will now have the option to delay VAT registration. This reduces the administrative and financial burden of tax reporting for micro-enterprises.

However, crossing the new threshold will still trigger full VAT obligations?including digital invoicing and compliance reporting.

What this means for e-Invoicing (KSeF)

Despite the increase in the VAT registration threshold, mandatory e-Invoicing (KSeF) obligations are still very much in effect:

If you're VAT-registered, you must prepare to adopt KSeF regardless of the new threshold.
